Sarah Johnston was born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and lives in Oviedo, Florida. She creates handmade ceramic address number and image tiles, functional pieces, and home decor for the home and garden.
She combines the woodcut techniques of printmaking and her love of clay to create hand carved stamps. She combines these stamps with other textures to create imagery focused on animals, nature and numbers. This imagery is repeated in functional ware, home decor and items for the garden. She also incorporates mosaicked antique china along with her tiles to create wall planters and mosaics for the interior and exterior of the home.
