Kate and Tony Lake are Midwest natives who moved to Florida in 2008. They had each been involved in different art forms since childhood. Kate found a real love for pottery after taking a wheel throwing class at the Artistic Hand Gallery and Studio; before long, Tony joined in and started handbuilding. Together, they are Misty Morning Crafts and now a good bit of their home is a pottery studio. They have a (near) weekly spot at the Lake Mary Farmer's Market, and they attend other nearby shows and sales when the opportunity arises.
Occasionally venturing into sculptural form, Kate and Tony mainly focus on functional pottery for everyday use. They enjoying using bare clay, layering glazes, making their own tools to create new shapes and patterns, and just having fun making things with their hands.
