Over time I have dabbled in various forms of art expression. What drew me to pottery is that, when the piece is finished, it is completely mine--in concept, formation, added details, and glazes. It is fully from my own imagination and fueled by my spirit’s need to recreate the beauty I have seen in nature over time.
When I was a little girl my aunt used to tease me for being so interested in 'the little things' around me. Still today it is the often overlooked beauty in 'the little things' which delights me the most. Whether it is a dragonfly steadfastly making its journey with a broken wing, a flowering weed reaching for the sun through cracked pavement, or an ancient building rebelling against the shifting earth and centuries of winds and rain to stand tall, I celebrate and champion the survivors all around us and those who are willing to stand up for those who cannot.
My hope is that my artwork will reconnect some of you with the simple joys in nature and for others bring you back to the summer day adventures when wading in creeks, climbing trees, and riding bikes all day long left you wiped out at the end of the day but eager to do it all over again when morning arrived.
