Gladys Cortiella has a history of learning and displaying her talents through an array of artistic mediums. Since the 1980’s she has been trained in a variety of art studios learning water color, acrylic and paper mache. Her love of art has allowed her to freely explore other avenues to express the beauty of her experiences. She retired from Boston Arts Academy in Boston where she was the chair of the world language department as a Spanish teacher. She is a global traveler and has been influenced to work with semi-precious stones making bracelets, necklaces and ear rings which reflect the diversity of cultures. Among other talents she also produces a variety of hair extension art designs utilizing a combination of materials such as rope, hide, beads and stone. She is currently working with hand building clay designs which range from making Catrinas, spirit-garden houses and other creative abstract designs. Her passion for learning is leading her to further explore hand building designs and a variety of color glazing. Gladys considers herself a student on an endless journey for the love of art that lives in all her creations.
