Orlando-based craft enthusiast, Debbie Fafalios, doing business as FancyBeeGifts on Etsy, has been honing her skills as a ceramicist for the past three years. Originally a quilter, Debbie blended her skills of pattern making with that of handbuilt pottery to bring about the perfect result as a clay artist.
Born and raised in Barbados, Debbie has always had a fondness and appreciation for hand-crafted pottery that reflected her heritage. Hand-crafted pottery on the island is painted in bright hues and is a very special art that dates back hundreds of years. Practicing this rare art is a direct connection to the past for her and a reminder that some things should never be changed. Small pots, jars, mugs, cups, plates, vases, and other ornaments are created and decorated to reflect the creator’s ethnic history. Each item is an original and though the item can be duplicated, no two items will ever be identical. Debbie lives in Kissimmee, Florida.
