Darnie Petro is a ceramic artist originally from Detroit, Michigan, now residing in DeLand, Florida.
After obtaining a bachelor of fine arts in ceramics, she worked at Pewabic Pottery (Detroit) for several years before relocating to Florida. After being away from ceramics for about 10 years, The Great Pottery Throw Down television show inspired her to try pit firing. Currently focusing on pit-fired ceramic jewelry, Darnie’s love of all things clay has been rekindled as she explores the variety of finishes pit firing can produce. Recently adding a kiln to her studio, Darnie has begun adding functional ware into her repertoire and enjoys experimenting with layered glazes. Darnie started an Etsy storefront, Darnie’s Delights, on which she sells her ceramic jewelry and other fine arts and crafts. Follow Darnie's Delights on Instagram: @darniesdelights |
