Native Floridian and the artist behind Mud Girl Pottery, Sarah Chambless found her passion for the ceramic arts over 20 years ago at the City of Orlando Pottery Studio. The inspiration for much of her art is found in nature, family heirlooms, and a desire to share joy through her creations. Her work is made up of sculptural pieces, functional pottery, and a blend of both. Botanical impressions curated on much-loved walks in nature are infused throughout her work. Found and repurposed objects like driftwood, antlers, and railroad nails have been thoughtfully collected from across the continent-including rural Oklahoma, the Oregon Coast, Northern Minnesota, and Nova Scotia, just to name a few. These have been creatively integrated into many of her one-of-a-kind art pieces.
Sarah also works with the design team at Live Trends and Urban Jungle in a collaborative effort fusing nature and design to create unique pieces of living art. Her designs have been sold across the country in specialty boutiques, as well as more well-known stores like Sprouts, Trader Joe’s, Publix, Lowe’s, and Target. Sarah was awarded with the People’s Choice award at the 2016 Orlando Pottery Festival; in 2017, she won the festival’s Best in Show award. Her designs for Live Trends were featured on the cover of the March 2018 issue of Green Profit Magazine. She resides in Central Florida and enjoys visiting Colorado as often as possible.
