Shelby Wren has a background in fine arts and recently graduated with her bachelors degree in Art History at UCF.
"I started out with drawing and painting in middle school and worked with those two mediums a lot through high school and while attending Valencia," Shelby says. "Clay was a required course to take, but never something I grasped too well while in school. About four years ago is when I found a love for the medium, and enjoy creating and exploring the different challenges that clay can present to an artist. The pinched form has been a dominant interest of mine and understanding the drastic, or subtle, organic outcome of a piece is intriguing. Anything seems to be possible, and I think that is what has kept my interest in clay, from the small delicate pieces to challenging myself to make bigger forms and exploring added elements to those forms.
I hope to have achieved a good size pinch pot army one day!"
