My name is Nell Balogh, and I have been making art since I could hold a crayon! During my first pottery class in high school, clay became my favorite medium, and I continued pottery classes all through high school and college. I was away from clay for years after graduation, but when we moved to Sanford, I started pottery classes at Seminole Community College. I decided to buy a kiln and began working from my home studio, selling my pottery at art and craft shows throughout the Southeast. Thirteen years ago, I began a career as a school bus driver for Seminole County Public Schools. I no longer travel doing shows, but working in clay continues to be one of the loves of my life! I am currently working with terra cotta clay. I love the warm red earth color of the clay and make a number of garden-related items that I leave unglazed. I also make a variety of decorative plaques, bowls, and trays. I will be offering items at the show both finished and unfinished. Buy a one-of-a-kind pieces for yourself or as a gift for a loved one. Buy a “raw” terra cotta piece and use your creativity to finish it yourself and showcase your own unique style!
