We were two retired grannies, who needed a hobby, and then found the art of pottery! Needless to say, we got hooked really quickly and have been learning new techniques ever since. It’s so much fun; we meet the most delightful people, and make the neatest things. Imagine taking a lump of clay and making delightful trinket boxes, door plaques, cups and even cereal bowls for your grandchildren…. you become a star in their eyes. How great is that? Surprisingly, even our adult children have started asking for things! Wow, who would have ever have thought that all this was going to happen!? It’s a very inexpensive hobby and is more a labor of love.
Our table is called “Not Perfect,” because we’re very new at this and by no means do we call ourselves “potters”, but we make things that are fun, useful, and more importantly make people happy! We decided to join the fair because the holidays are approaching; we’ve made lots of ornaments, candy dishes, serving dishes and cups with the holiday theme. We as grandmas know how many times we had to try to find unique teacher gifts, hostess gifts, something for the mailman, etc. We hope to see you there and hope you’ll take home some of our holiday pieces to enjoy as much as we enjoyed making them! We are Laura Tomlinson and Dawn Hargrove, Grannies Times Two!
